Definition of language: Language is the method of communication between peoples and people of different origins, and language differs in its definition from one person to another and from one logic to another. Because it is closely related to the sciences, which gives it much wider fields in its definition. Ibn Jinni says: (Language is the voice by which people express their needs).
The Arabic language: is one of the most prominent languages at all, the most beautiful in terms and in its ability to comprehend clear meanings, as it is called the language of Al-Dad, It is a wide and a comprehensive language of expression, and the Arabs were previously proud of their ability to compose poetry, proverbs, prose and rhetoric. And the Arabic tongue was still eloquent until the Arabs were mixed with elements of the non-Arabs who entered Islam in the era of the Umayyad state.
The emergence of the Arabic language
The Arabic language is considered one of the oldest languages, and its origin goes back to the Semitic languages, and it is considered the closest to it among all the languages that belong to the same origin, and the origin of the oldest Arabic texts found dates back to the third century AD, which are jahili poetic texts that are distinguished by the eloquence of their language and elegance of their style , and its regular poetic rhyme, and most sayings suggest that the origin of the Arabic language goes back to the countries of the Hijaz in the Arabian Peninsula. It developed over time as a result of several factors, including the multiplicity of civilizations, the multiplicity of their dialects, and the establishment of different markets such as the Okaz market. The markets are considered one of the most important factors that influenced and caused the emergence and development of fluent Arabic.
The importance of the Arabic language and its position among the other languages:
The language in general is considered one of the most important natural and social characteristics of human beings, and it is the best way to express the feelings and needs of the individual and the group, and the importance of the Arabic language comes from that it is one of the main components of society, it is also one of the most important building factors in different civilizations and cultures, and it is the main reason for the establishment of states and the creation of different societies; because the power and rhetoric of the language largely expresses the cohesion of the community which speaks this language, and the interest of the community in it, its rules, its sciences, its manners, and this is the most beautiful form of development in thought and behavior in societies that preserve their language.
The Arabic language has received the attention and care that no language has received, and this is what Allah wanted to be. Because it is the language of the Noble Qur’an, and this is the greatest honor and the greatest importance of the Arabic language. Because Allah, the Almighty God, chose it over the other languages of the earth, in order to be his eternal speech, that no one was or will be able to come with a language stronger than the Arabic Language till the day of judgment, and this miracle was only because this language enjoys the greatness of divine speech and the power of the divine discourse. The Arabic language was called the language of the Qur’an and Sunnah, Allah Said in his holy book “And We surely know that they say, “No one is teaching him except a human.” But the man they refer to speaks a foreign tongue, whereas this ˹Quran˺ is ˹in˺ eloquent Arabic” (An-Nahl: 103). All of this indicates the importance of the Arabic language in clearly understanding the verses of the Qur’an, their aims and meanings. Because the Qur’an was revealed in an eloquent and clear Arabic tongue during an era when most people were proud of themselves and proud of the eloquence of their language, and their familiarity with its rules and regulations. The Holy Qur’an was revealed with meanings, structures, and very eloquent sentences that contain a lot of rhetorical similes and metaphors, and linguistic methods. Which adds a lot to the Arabic language, until it became the only immortal language in the world.
Language is the main container that contains sciences, technology, culture, history, civilization, identity, and feelings. If a nation can preserve its language, it will be one of the most advanced and developed nations, and it is also clear that there is a problem in teaching and disseminating sciences in the currently in the Arabic language, And the adoption of the English language is often in education in Arab universities and sometimes in schools as well, and this problem was formed due to the weakness of the Arabic content in new sciences, and the lack of the Arabic scientific aspect of the literature written in the Arabic language, and if any, sometimes the scientific content is too old to be taken into account, or it is incorrect Or not documented, although teaching science in the Arabic language is easier and more enjoyable, Since the Arabic language gives space for brevity and great expression on various topics, it is a very flexible language in explaining scientific matters in light of the great abundance of vocabulary and linguistic methods.
Advantages and Characteristics of The Arabic language
