JOURNEY OF HAJJ AND HIS PERFORMANCE
The Hajj absolves Muslims of past since, do before the Hajj to travel to Mecca, it’s very common for people to ask their relatives, friends and acquaintances to forgive them, the Hajj is one of the pillars in Islam, in Ustadhy we will know the meaning of Hajj, and it’s performing.
What’s the meaning of Hajj?
Hajj in Islam is Muslims go to Macca at a certain time every year, it’s one of the main pillars of Islam, it’s a fifth and final pillar of Islam, it’s the individual duty to any adult man and woman for once in the life, if they can make it, Hajj make by a certain performance called Manasik Hajj, thousands upon thousands of people all wearing the same clothes and gathering around Kaaba in Saudi Arabia, the Hajj takes five days, and toward the end of it comes Eid- Ul- Adha or the festival of sacrifice, Muslims worldwide celebrate by slaughter an animal usually a sheep, and this is part of the ritual is related to prophet Ibrahim, it’s a commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obedience to God before God intervened him with a ram to sacrifice instead.
Performance of Hajj ( Manasik Hajj):
Manasik Hajj started in the eighth of zelhuj, which the pilgrims doing the Ehram and get around the Kaaba, but there are a habit and behaviour must be doing it before Ehram:
1- Cut the hair.
2- Cut nails.
3- perfume the clothes for men, and deodorant without smell for women.
4- during Ihram must be patient, kind as much as possible.
Day one ( 8th of zilhaj):
The first step is the wearing of Ehram, men wear two separated sheets of white colour, and women wear a scarf to cover their hair and ordinary cloth with white or black colour.
The journey of the Hajj started in Makka by Tawaf and Sale are performed, then leave for Mina, in Mina the pilgrims still for time to pray and remember of Allah.
Day two (9th of Zilhaj):
The pilgrims walk for 14,4km journey to Arafat, stand on Arafat it’s an important date for pilgrims only but, it’s considered as an important day for all Islamic calendar, they fasting in this day, Arafat is home of Gabal Alrahma ( mount of mercy), where prophet Mohammed (PBUH), the pilgrims dedicate their time in Arafat to prayer and seeking forgiveness, after sunset the pilgrims walk for 9km to Muzdalifah, and they collect 49 pebbles by the person for Rami in the next days.
Third day (10th of Zilhaj) Eid-ul-Adha :
This 8s celebrity of Muslims all around the world, the pilgrims start this day in the Muzdalifa and back to Mina, once they reach to Mina the pilgrims start to Rami, during the Rami in day one, each person thrown seven pebbles at the largest pillar in the Jamarat on the Shaitan this is first done by Ibrahim(PBUH) and his family, once complete, the pilgrims performed their sacrificial duties, this dutei also first done by Ibrahim (PBUH) when Allah commended him to sacrificial his son, then the pilgrims trim or shave their hair and remove their Ehram’s clothes, and clean themselves, then they return to Makkah to perform Tawaf and Sale, then the pilgrims make they way back to Mina.
Days 4,5 and 6 (11th, 12th and 13th of Zilhaj) :
They performed Rami each day by throwing seven pebbles at each of the three pillars، after then the pilgrims turned to Makkah to farewell the Kaaba known as (Tawaf- ul- Wida), which marks the completion of their Hajj.
What’s the Kaaba:
The Kaaba is a huge stone structure that sits at the heart of the Macca’s Grand Mosque, the pilgrims circle the Kaaba counterclockwise seven times, the prophet Ibrahim who’s built the Kaaba with his son Ismail, the Hajj rituals mostly follow the struggles of Ibrahim, his wife Hajar and his son Ismail in surrounding their wills to God.
The pilgrim industry is Saudi Arabia’s second most important after oil and gas, the tourism sector directly contributes $22,6 billion to Saudi Arabia’s economy, with Hajj providing nearly half of it, the Hajj is expensive, the price of the Hajj package ranged from $4,000 to $10,000 here inside the UK.
Performance Hajj by proxy:
It’s called Badal Hajj, it’s meaning of person make the performance of the Hajj instead of another person who’s unable to do it, but there are certain conditions must be are present in this person, as he has a disease that prevents him to perform the Hajj or old and the wise person he can’t travel to any place.
The benefits of the Hajj:
1- the Hajj is the obedience and the truly deed as that said from the prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
2- free from sins or purifying from sins to who’s valid and acceptable Hajj.
3- paradise is an award from Allah.
4- often wipes out poverty.
5- becoming guests of Allah
Summary:
Finally, the Ustadhy website tried to simplify the performing Hajj which is considered a great accomplishment for Muslims all over the world, and consider as a celebration for them to do the duties as Tawaf, sacrifice, fasting, Rami and Sale.
